Hello and Happy Thursday! What happened? I forgot to publish this post last Friday... so sorry about that! Summer is such a hectic time in my household - can you relate?! Once again, I hope you'll enjoy the post a bit late. This week (last week?) over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Jennifer asked us to share projects made with our products from the Everyday Occasions section of the Annual catalog found on pages 12-71. I decided to change it up and use the Dashing Deer Christmas stamp set to make a masculine birthday card using a card sketch I found on Pinterest:
I decided to turn the layout and create a card with Landscape orientation. I am really loving this Pretty Peacock In Color and it pairs well with crumb cake, soft suede and mint macaron for a great "guy" card. This deer may have some fancy antlers, but I think I pulled off a non-Christmas card with it with the help of the Well Said stamp set which can also be found in the Everyday Occasions section of the Annual catalog. And I am so happy that the Braided Linen thread carried over from the Holiday Catalog! It adds such a great texture to this card.
You can see the various layers from this angle - I love using stampin' dimensionals to elevate elements on the card.
I was able to die-cut the deer very easily thanks to the coordinating Detailed Deer thinlits. The circle was cut using the Stitched Shapes thinlits and the banner I just notched with my Paper Snips.
Here's a close-up of the inside of the card - I added a a deer image in the bottom corner and then the sentiment was stamped on a strip of the mint macaron card stock. To be honest, I stamped it crooked so had to improvise... looks okay, thought, right?!
Here is another look at my card. For even more fabulous card ideas and inspiration from the Everyday Occasions section of the Annual catalog please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created last week. Be sure to check back tomorrow as I post this week's post!
