Hello and Happy Sunday! I hope you and your loved ones had a very Merry Christmas! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing projects made featuring this great color combo that Karla came up with: Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Pacific Point. I thought those colors were perfect for a snowy penguin birthday card.
Isn't this a fun winter color palette? What would you do with these colors?
These are the products I used for my card: Penguin Place bundle (stamp set and coordinating punch), Double Oval punch and the 1/4" Black & White gingham ribbon all from the Holiday catalog. Please click on any photo above to hop over to my Stampin' Up! store to place an order.
Here is another view of my card - this little penguin is just too stinkin' cute! The penguin was built using the penguin punch with basic black card stock for the main body, and then basic white card stock for the top layer. I stamped it with the eyes, beak and feet, then added a stamped scarf and hat which I fussy cut. I also added a cute gift bag since this is a birthday card. For the sentiment, I added a tiny heart image from the stamp set using the highland heather ink pad. All of the black (eyes and sentiment) was stamped using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
I don't know if you can see it, but I tore the white card stock and then used the clear Wink of Stella glimmer brush on the torn edge to look like sparkly snow. It is subtle, but definitely adds to the card.
For the inside, I stamped the other penguin image sliding down a little hill. It was just too cute not to include in this card! For some reaason the ink wasn't even on his back, but kind of looks like he has snow on his back (that's the story I am going with!).
Here is one more view of my fun penguin card. For even more Color Challenge card ideas and inspiration, don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
