Hello and thanks for visiting! Today's card is a clean and simple (CAS) birthday card featuring a beautiful color palette.
I recently discovered a fun challenge blog called Color Hues - The Color Challenge that has a bi-monthly color challenge. I am trying to get more cards made and posted to my blog, so plan to participate in these challenges each month! The current TCH challenge #24 colors include Turquoise and Coral. Since we no longer have a turquoise, I used Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral for my card.
My birthday card features the Art Gallery stamp set and Pretty Flowers embossing folder from the Annual Catalog. Please click the hyperlink or images above to visit my Stampin' Up! store to place an online order.
Here's a view of my card from above - it helps to see the texture a little bit better. Instead of using the embossed side of the card stock, I decided I liked the debossed side better - the patterns aren't as bold so don't take away from the stamped flower image.
This view of the stamped panel really shows the gorgeous flower, which was stamped with three different images. The more solid image was stamped with 2nd generation ink, so is lighter, while the more detailed images were stamped full-strength. The birthday sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink since this is a photopolymer stamp set. I kept it super simple on a skinny strip of card stock I had in my scrap pile and trimmed the ends to fit across the bottom of the stamped panel. I popped it up with some mini stampin' dimensionals.
Here's a view of the inside of the card. I used the smallest detail stamp and stamped off prior to stamping on the card stock. The foliage is from the bottom of the large stem stamp. I left the card blank inside to have more room to write.
Here is one last look at my card. I hope I have inspired you with this gorgeous color palette! Be sure to check out the other submissions and designer creations on the Color Hues blog.
Thanks for visiting and happy stamping!
