Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring fancy fold cards. I think this Dutch Door card is super easy and fun. I created a similar card back in March 2021 that you can find here. Read on to find out more about today's project...
I used the Hello Ladybug stamp set along with the coordinating Ladybug builder punch and Biggest Wish stamp sets today. The color palette includes Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade along with Basic Black. To place an online order or check out the new products available from the 2023-2024 Annual catalog, please click on any image to hop over to my online Stampin' Up! store (don't forget to use Host Code UAJXWBSR* with your online order at checkout through May 30th).
Here is how the card looks when it is closed. I haven't received my preorder yet for new goodies from the Annual catalog, so had to make my own DSP. I used the "hello" from the Biggest Wish stamp set (Poppy Parade) along with the little "x's" (Granny Apple Green) and the dot (Daffodil Delight)from the Hello Ladybug set to create the bottom panel. I was inspired to use these colors from my Hello Ladybug cards created earlier this year (click below to visit those posts):
Here is a close-up of the stamped panel. I cut out the ladybug body and wings using the punch - I love that it coordinates beautifully with this stamp set! They are both popped up with stampin' dimensionals.
Here is what the card looks like when opened up... as you can see, these are super easy to make! Just cut your card stock in half at 11" x 4-1/4". Score down the middle at 5-1/2". Then cut down along the fold until the 2-1/4" point and then cut that piece off from the top of the card to make your "door". I also added a little yellow flower on the inside to add some color.
And here is one last view of my card. I hope you are inspired to make a Dutch Door card of your own. For even more fancy fold card ideas and inspiration, be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what Karla and Rachel created this week. Happy stamping!!
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!

Debbie, what a cute, upbeat, card! Love the ladybug and the great sentiment. I really like your idea of making your own dsp with the Biggest Wish sentiment and the tiny images.

Rita, thank you so much! I love this little ladybug and it was so easy to make my own "DSP" with it and the sentiment from Biggest Wish. So glad these two returned in the big catalog this year!!
