Sunday Fun Day: Blueberry Gingham Beautiful Balloons birthday card

 

  Hello and Happy Sunday!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring birthday cards as our theme.  I created a bright and cheerful card perfect for anyone on your list, because who doesn't love balloons and streamers?!?!?

 

 

  I used the new Beautiful Balloons stamp set along with the fun Glorious Gingham DSP. The color palette includes Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green along with Basic White.   Here is another view of my card - I think this color combination is great for a summer birthday.  The gingham background DSP is a fun pattern and this card works for kids and adults!! 

 

 

  Here is what the card looks like when opened up... I stamped the larger balloon image with Granny Apple Green ink (after stamping off once to make the ink lighter) and added the sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink. I then added some confetti/sprinkle images all around that were inked with Daffodil Delight. Lastly, I added a skinny strip of the DSP (using the reverse design) to complete the card.

May 2023 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop: Returning Shades of Nature's Prints birthday card set

 

  Hello and thank you for stopping by during this month's blog hop! Check out this fun set of birthday cards I made featuring three of the returning colors - can you guess which ones they are?  I love the monochromatic look of these cards and the Nature's Prints stamp set has such beautiful images!! Please read on to find out more about this month's project.... 

 

 

  For the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop this month, we are featuring the returning colors. I don't know about you, but I am super excited for the return of these three: Blueberry Bushel, Misty Moonlight and Pretty Peacock! Did you guess correctly? These shades of blue/green are just so rich and beautiful and perfect for this monochromatic card layout when paired with basic white!! 

 

 

  I used the Nature's Prints stamp set along with the coordinating Natural Prints dies and Fern 3D embossing folder. It's so easy to die cut images and add texture using the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.   This first card features the beautiful Blueberry Bushel ink and card stock. All three cards have the same basic layout with just a few minor differences. Each has a background panel of white card stock embossed with the Fern 3D folder, and each features a bouquet of various stamped images from the Nature's Prints stamp set along with a sentiment.  As you can see, I only added glue to the bottoms of the "stems" so that these images pop off the card and look more 3D.  I stamped each of the cards the same way on the inside, too, to add some interest.  I further embellished this card with some basic Rhinestone basic jewels because I love the added bling!  

 

 

  This next card features Misty Moonlight ink and card stock. This is such a soft blue, isn't it? Instead of adding any embellishments, I used a clear Wink of Stella glue pen to add some shimmer to the stamped images (sadly it is very difficult to photograph that shimmer).  The card stock leaves look a little different on this card because I had cut out the wreath die cut, but then cut it up into pieces to tuck into the bouquet. 

 

 

  And here is my third card featuring the Pretty Peacock ink and card stock. For this card I embellished with the Iridescent Pearls basic jewels.  This color is so beautiful and rich!

Sunday Fun Day: Fancy Fold Hello Ladybug Dutch Door card

 

  Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring fancy fold cards.  I think this Dutch Door card is super easy and fun. I created a similar card back in March 2021 that you can find here.  Read on to find out more about today's project...

 

 

  I used the Hello Ladybug stamp set along with the coordinating Ladybug builder punch and Biggest Wish stamp sets today. The color palette includes Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade along with Basic Black.   Here is how the card looks when it is closed.  I haven't received my preorder yet for new goodies from the Annual catalog, so had to make my own DSP. I used the "hello" from the Biggest Wish stamp set (Poppy Parade) along with the little "x's" (Granny Apple Green) and the dot (Daffodil Delight)from the Hello Ladybug set to create the bottom panel. I was inspired to use these colors from my Hello Ladybug cards created earlier this year (click below to visit those posts):

  Here is a close-up of the stamped panel. I cut out the ladybug body and wings using the punch - I love that it coordinates beautifully with this stamp set!  They are both popped up with stampin' dimensionals.

 

 

  Here is what the card looks like when opened up... as you can see, these are super easy to make! Just cut your card stock in half at 11" x 4-1/4". Score down the middle at 5-1/2". Then cut down along the fold until the 2-1/4" point and then cut that piece off from the top of the card to make your "door". I also added a little yellow flower on the inside to add some color.

Sunday Fun Day: Two-Tone Flora Mother's Day card

 

  Hello and Happy Sunday!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring florals because you know what they say:  April showers bring May flowers!  I don't know about you, but my flower beds are alive with color right now! My irises are in full bloom (different shades of purple and yellow); the columbine are blooming in purple, pink, yellow and white; the knockout roses are in shades of bright red and salmon; the geraniums are in shades of magenta and the white spirea are full of tiny white flowers. I LOVE spring for this very reason... you can never have too many flowers. And with Mother's Day just a week away I decided to make a pretty floral card for my Mother-in-law. Sadly, this will be my first Mother's Day without my own mother, but I am thankful to still have my Mother-in-law to celebrate.  Please read on for more information about today's card...

  Here is another view of my card.  My MIL loves the color yellow, so I used Daffodil Delight along with Crushed Curry for my yellow flowers. The purple flowers are Fresh Freesia with Highliand Heather ink. The blue flowers are Pool Party with returning color Lost Lagoon and the pink flowers are Flirty Flamingo. The greens used for the foliage images include Granny Apple Green and returning Lemon Lime Twist. Don't recognize the sentiment? That's because it is from a long-retired stamp set called All Year Cheer II. I have had this set for MANY years, anyone else remember it? Sadly, I don't have any current sets with a Mother's Day sentiment so I pulled this one out to use.   Wondering how I got the ribbon wrapped around the card? I used my paper snips to cut a small notch in the fold of the card and fed the ribbon through the hole and tied it in front. Easy-peasey!
