Hello and Happy Friday - TGIF, am I right?! There is a new color challenge over on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog that I used to create my sympathy card for today. Sadly, I have needed a few sympathy cards to send to friends and family this week and thought this color palette would be perfect to use with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set.
The CAS Colours & Sketches blog provides a color challenge for the first half of the month and a sketch challenge for the other half. This month's palette is such a great color combination for spring-themed cards, especially florals. Please click the link or image above to check out the blog.
I must admit that I haven't used the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set in a while, and forgot how much I love it! I stamped the large flower image several times onto a 11" x 3" strip of basic white card stock and then colored them all at the same time, assembly-line style. There are solid image stamps in the set that coordinate with the flowers and foliage, making it super easy to color. Once they were colored, I used the coordinating Penned Flowers dies to cut each one out with my Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.
Above are images and links to the products that I used for today's project. To find out more about these items or to place an online order, please click on any image to hop over to my online Stampin' Up! store (don't forget to use Host Code NK4X4VC3* with your online order at checkout through March 30th).
Here you can see the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and the basic pearls that I added for a little something extra. Once I die cut the floral image, I popped it up with dimensionals on my card front.
For the inside of the card I simply stamped the large floral image with Highland Heather ink, stamped off once on my grid paper, then stamped a partial image in the lower left corner. This allows me room to write, but also makes the inside of the card a little special too.
Here is one more view of my card. I hope I have inspired you to try out this color palette.
Thanks for visiting and happy stamping!

The Hand-Penned Petals stamp set is so delicate and is one of my favorites, too. Those soft spring colors are a lovely choice for a sympathy card.

What a pretty and elegant card made using the colours of the current CC&S challenge. The stamped flowers on the inside of the card add such a gorgeous detail. This sympathy card will certainly bring comfort to the recipient. Thank you so much for sharing with us at CC&S :)
