Hello and Happy Sunday Monday! I apologize for the delay, but I was out of town over the weekend and didn't get a chance to finalize my post. This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing our favorite projects from 2022, but I decided to take it a step further and use new product and CASE it instead.
Here is the card that I CASE'd - it was my Sunday Fun Day masculine card project from July 10, 2022. You can hop over to see that original blog post here.
Above are images and links to the products that I used for today's project. Are you as happy as I am that Sale-a-Bration has begun?? I just HAD to have the Adorable Owls set when I first saw it last month - they are so cute! And you can EARN IT FOR FREE with a qualifying $50 merchandise purchase through February 28th! I also used the new Loveliest Layers Decorative Mask with the Small Blending Brushes from the Spring mini catalog. To find out more about these items or to place an online order, please click on any image to hop over to my online Stampin' Up! store (don't forget to use Host Code AWMYZTC4 with your online order at checkout through January 30th).
Here is another view of my card. I used used a small blending brush to add night of navy ink to the basic gray card base. The little owl image is stamped on smoky slate card stock and I colored him with stampin' blends (smoky slate, gray granite, cherry cobbler, old olive and tahitian tide). For the whites of the eyes and pompom topper on the birthday hat, I used a white watercolor pencil. It showed up pretty well on the smoky slate card stock!
Here you can see the texture on the night of navy card stock strip - it almost looks like ribbon, doesn't it? To get this effect, I used a thin strip of card stock and my bone folder to curl it like you do with curling ribbon and scissors. It breaks the paper fibers and eventually the card stock will separate into two pieces. The underside of the card stock has this great texture that almost looks like suede. It's a great technique that is super easy!
For the inside, I stamped a little owl peeking from the corner and added a birthday sentiment using the Biggest Wish stamp set. This is a fun one with large blocked sentiments and ones in cursive that you can mix and match.
Here is one more view of my card. To see which projects from 2022 were Rachel and Karla's favorites, please be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog. Happy stamping and Happy Sale-a-Bration!!
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
