Hello and Happy Sunday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are using a great fall color combo for our projects inspired by the image above that I found on Pinterest (see my color inspiration board here). Do you love Pinterest as much as I do for finding inspiration?
Above are images and links to the products that I used for today's project. To find out more about these items or to place an online order, please click on any image to hop over to my online Stampin' Up! store (don't forget to use Host Code DJTZ9EEH with your online order at checkout through November 30th).
Here is a different view of the card where you can really see the background paper. I love how using crushed curry ink with a blending brush and one of the Artistic Mix decorative masks makes such a pretty tone-on-tone background paper for the card. Here's a great tip for using the decorative masks when adding ink - use a tiny bit of multipurpose glue on the back of your cardstock and let it dry to the point of being sticky. Put it on your grid paper, then add the mask on top and hold it in place using washi tape. I find that adding a little ink at a time is the best way to go and I like to use a swirling motion with the blending brush. Remember, you can always add more ink but once you have it on the paper there is no way to lighten it. When you're done, just wash the mask and blending brush with soapy water and let dry.
There are dies that coordinate with the True Beauty stamp set. I don't have them (yet), so fussy cut the flowers and leaves using my paper snips. I layered them to create my bouquet. The birthday sentiment is stamped in early espresso ink and is from the Go To Greetings stamp set.
For the inside of my card, I had an extra flower cut out, so glued it in the corner. But first, I used my blending brush to add a little crushed curry ink in the corner and stamped some leaves with garden green ink.
Here is one last view of my card. For even more fall color inspiration ideas, please be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what Karla and Rachel created this week.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
