Sunday Fun Day: Rustic Harvest Fall birthday cards

  Hello and Happy Sunday Monday! This week we are sharing fall-themed cards over on the Sisters in Stamping blog.  I have several friends with October birthdays, so created two different cards featuring the Rustic Harvest DSP from the Holiday catalog.  I love these patterns and check out how totally different these cards are!

  Here is the first card - don't see the colored leaves DSP in the product image above? That is because this is a black and white paper and I colored the different leaf images with Stampin' Blends markers: Cherry Cobbler, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow and Pumpkin Pie. I added some fun texture with the Gingham embossing folder used with the Crushed Curry card stock and the Natural Woven ribbon in the top corner that I tied in a knot. It doesn't really show in the images, but I also used a Wink of Stella glimmer brush to add some shimmer and shine to the leaves and "colored" in the birthday letters on the punch.  The friend for whom I created this card doesn't like the mess of glitter, so this way she will get some bling without the mess.  I hope she likes it as much as I do!

 

 

 

  For this card I was going for more of a masculine feel. I really let the pumpkins pattern shine as the focal point of the card. 

 

 

  Wondering what ribbon I used on the punch? That is actually a very thin strip of mossy meadow card stock that I used to make a knot. In order to do so, I had to first break the fibers using my bone folder. It adds the perfect touch, don't you think? I also colored in the birthday letters using a cajun crazy stampin' write marker.  For the inside of the card, I added a small strip of the DSP from the front of the card. I really love how this one turned out!

Sunday Fun Day: Perfectly Penciled Wedding Wishes card

 

  Hello and Happy Sunday! This week we are showcasing wedding cards over on the Sisters in Stamping blog in honor of Rachel's son's wedding this weekend.  I am not quite there with my kids, but look forward to the day they get married.  Wedding cards are always difficult for me, but thankfully I had some beautiful DSP to help me with this card.

I colored the gorgeous pattern with my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers and what an easy card!  Want to place an online order?   Here is another view of my card. I used Petal Pink for the flowers, Pumpkin Pie for the flower centers and butterflies, and Soft Sea Foam for the foliage. The colors are soft and go well with the Smoky Slate card base.

 

 

 

  I cut a small strip of the DSP and flipped it over (the pattern is also beautiful), and stamped the matching verse to the outside of the card from the Celebrate You stamp set. This is a great set an is so versatile!

Sunday Fun Day: Nuts about You congratulations card

 

  Hello and Happy Sunday! This week we are showcasing Congratulations cards to help celebrate the achievements of our family and friends over on the Sisters in Stamping blog.  I love sending these cards to people and decided to make one that is perfect for fall, gender-neutral and age-appropriate for anyone.

 

  Don't you just love this DSP? It is from the Host selection Celebrate Everything DSP pack in the Holiday catalog. It pairs perfectly with the Nuts about You stamp set, right?  The sentiments (card front and inside panel) are both from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and I used the Decorative Circle punch on the front of the card.  Want to place an online order?   Here is another view of my card. I pulled the colors from the DSP - crushed curry for the card base, shaded spruce for the mat and punch, and poppy parade to mat the sentiment banner.

 

 

  How stinkin' cute is this little squirrel? I colored him using gray granite ink and the acorn is stamped with crumb cake and soft suede. I love that this set is 2-step - the solid image stamps, which are photopolymer and therefore clear, make it so quick and easy to stamp and color the images!  The thing that took me the longest on this card was fussy-cutting the squirrel with my paper snips. I popped him up with dimensionals onto the punched piece. To make it super easy, that punch was cut from the mat piece on the card front.

 

 

  I kept the inside of the card super simple with just a matted strip of the DSP and another sentiment from the Hand-Penned Petals set.
