Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing projects featuring one of my favorite tools - PUNCHES!! I chose four punches for my card set above... read on to see which ones I used and more about each card. Both cards also feature the beautiful Hand-Penned DSP and the Friendly Hello (Sale-a-Bration selection) stamp set.
Please see above for the products I used with today's project. The four punches I used are shown above. Click on any photo above to hop over to my Stampin' Up! store to place an order.
Here is my first card. I used the Daisy punch to cut out a negative image (saving the cut-out for my next card). I loved the monochromatic pattern of this piece of the DSP in highland heather and it serves as the perfect backdrop. To add a little more interest to the flower cut-out, I used the Medium Daisy punch with highland heather card stock and offset layered the smaller flower on top with a single large rhinestone in the center. The sentiment was stamped with gorgeous grape ink and I added three smaller rhinestones randomly on the panel. I cut out a medium daisy flower from the DSP in the lower corner of the panel, which is hidden by the stamped piece, and glued it to the inside of the card.
And for my second card, I used the Daisy cut-out from my first card and added 3 more plus 3 cut-outs using of the Medium Daisy punch to build my flower (each layer was offset to show off the flower petals). I used the dark so saffron stampin' blend marker to color a large rhinestone for the center. The leaves were cut out using the Spring punch with mint macaron card stock. I used one full sprig on each side of the flower and then cut a third on in half and added them to each side of the daisy. I glued the pieces to the back of the flower and then glued it down to the DSP panel. The sentiment was stamped on a strip that I notched on each end using the Lovely Label pick a punch with misty moonlight ink and the little sprigs were stamped with mint macaron ink, mimicking the sprigs on the flower. Isn't this DSP pattern beautiful? I also glued a thin strip of DSP onto the inside panel for interest.
Here's one more look at my punch-y card set. For even more punch ideas and projects, don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog.
