Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing Halloween treats and I once again went with my favorite 2-4-6-8 favor box. I thought I had ordered Halloween DSP, but alas I did not. So, I did the next best thing and created my own using various images from the Clever Cats stamp set that I used for my Stampers Dozen Blog Hop project a few days ago (see that post here).
The products I used with today's project include the Clever Cats stamp set, Label Me Lovely punch and Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon, which I colored with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker. Click on any of the images above to visit my Stampin' Up! store to place an online order.
These little favor boxes come together so quickly from just half a sheet of card stock - just cut it in half so it is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", then score it on the long side at 2", 4", 6" and 8" so you have four 2" panels and one 1/2" flap. Next, rotate the card stock 90 degrees and score at 4". Cut the bottom flaps, trim the corners and glue it together - easy-peasey! For more detailed directions, see this PDF from my Countdown to Christmas 2020.
And here is a close-up of the panel - I stamped the solid pumpkin image with Mango Melody ink and then added the detailed jack-o-lantern image over it with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad (best to use this since the stamp set is photopolymer). I added the kitty cat, which I somehow managed to miss sitting directly on the pumpkin, and the sentiment. The hardest part of this project was threading the ribbon through the tiny holes. I didn't tie a knot so it is easy to open the favor without destroying it.
Here is one last look at my favor box. I hope I have inspired you with my stamped Halloween treat. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for even more great card Halloween treat ideas and inspiration!!
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
