Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing cards made using a fun card sketch, courtesy of Karla.
This is the layout that we are using for this week's projects. I stuck pretty close to it with my two cards today that feature a few products from the Holiday catalog.
I chose to use the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set along with the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6" x 6" DSP from the Holiday catalog along with the largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies set. To purchase the items used with today's project - please hop over to my Stampin' Up! store.
This first card feaures the tiny peppermint DSP for the corners and I cut out the cookie cutter Christmas tree from one of the sheets. I started with a 3" x 3" piece of the DSP that I cut in half diagonally. The sentiment was inked with cinnamon cider, old olive and real red stampin' write markers. To top off the tree, I added a basic rhinestone for a little bling. For the inside of the card, I just added a simple strip of the DSP that features larger peppermint candies.
For my second card I used this fun swirly patterned DSP and cut out a snowflake, which I adorned with a basic rhinestone right in the center. The sentiment was inked with old olive ink and I added a strip of the same DSP to the inside of the card.
So which one do you like better? My daughter Amanda prefers the Christmas Tree card, but I think I like the snowflake one just a little bit better. I plan to make more of these quick & easy cards to send out to my friends and family this year. I hope I have inspired you to get started on your Christmas cards also!
