Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing projects inspired by Nature. I haven't used my Free as a Bird stamp set in a while so thought it would be a perfect one for this theme. I also pulled out my Birch stamp set for the background because it works together so well.
I used the Stitched So Sweetly die set to cut the sentiment panel and used a branch and the fun bird image on the corners. I stamped the sentiment crooked the first time (ouch) so stamped it again on a piece of basic white scrap paper and cut it out with the Tailored Tag punch. I sponged all edges to help make it pop on the card and embellished with some linen thread tied in a sweet bow. The background Birch image is stamped with Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake card stock and then I sponged it all over with Crumb Cake ink.
Here's a close-up of the bird image. I stamped it first on the panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink because I didn't want to have to cut out the little birdie feet. Next, I stamped it again on a piece of scrap basic white card stock, colored it with Pool Party and Daffodil Delight stampin' blend markers, and then cut it out and mounted it using stampin' dimensionals. I used Old Olive stampin' blend markers to color the leaves and the dark Crumb Cake stampin' blend to color the stems.
Here is one last look at my card. I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Nature-themed stamp sets and make a card today. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for even more card ideas and inspiration.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
