Hi there and welcome to the August 2021 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing cards that move and I decided to create a moving 2-fold card that I saw on Pinterest (see it here) that was created by Mary Deatherage. I love this card technique and hope you do, too! I changed up my dimensions just a bit to make it easier to cut - I'll share those soon.
I wanted to use the new Penguin Place bundle (stamp set and coordinating punch) from the Holiday catalog along with the matching Penguin Playmates DSP that is a Sale-a-Bration selection free with a $50 purchase. I also used one of the new Wonderful Snowflakes embellishments - don't you love it?
Here is a view from above of the card - there are a lot of folds involved but I like how the accordion fold opens the card. It does make it hard to photograph, though! Check out all the fun patterns I used from the Penguin Playmates DSP!! The colors are so fun and the images are cute.
For this front panel, I relied heavily on the DSP. The dotted background and little penguin are from the DSP. I like how the pretty Wonderful Snowflake embellishment shines in the background. I added a sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set inked with Fresh Freesia on top to complete the front panel. I think the tree patterned DSP is really bright and fun, too!
The back of that front panel also includes another fun piece of the DSP. You can also see how I completed the inside of the card as well as the DSP panels on the accordion folds that work to open the card.
For the inside of the card, I added a few more strips of the colorful striped DSP and added a sentiment stamped in Misty Moonlight DSP. The penguin was stamped on a separate sheet of basic white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black and Calypso Coral ink and then cut out using the coordinating punch (easy-peasey!). I used a stampin' dimensional to raise him up a little for contrast.
Here is one last view of my closed card. I hope you've enjoyed my moving 2-fold card featuring the Penguin Place product suite. For even more moving cards inspiration and ideas, be sure to check out the other designer's blog posts using the links below.

Love this fold! It looks like a cool collaboration of a couple of different folds. Such a great way to show off pretty DSP!

I love the accordion fold, Debbie! The card is so cute because of the adorable penguins! TFS.
