Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. We are sharing projects featuring retiring products, and I decided to use the Rooted in Nature stamp set along with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder. Did you see these floral cards I share a few days ago using this same folder? I am sure going to miss it!

Here is the first card I created. Both cards use essentially the same color palette - crumb cake, garden green and very vanilla. I added early espresso to this card when coloring the tree trunk on the tree image (using a stampin' write marker after inking the image with a garden green ink pad) and also for the "Be Happy" sentiment. This piece was cut after I stamped the full sentiment and then I attached it to the card. For the embossed card stock, I used the debossed side of the crumb cake card stock and heavily sponged it with crumb cake ink. I added two pieces of the braided linen trim and tied a knot for some added interest since the card is pretty clean and simple and decided to leave the inside of the card blank for more versatility.
For this card, I used soft suede ink for the tree rings image prior to stamping the sentiment with early espresso ink on a piece of crumb cake card stock. For the embossed panel, I used the embossed side of the card stock and used a lighter touch when sponging as I wanted it to be lighter in color. For the inside, I stamped the leaf image in the lower corner just for some added interest.
So which one is your favorite? I think I like the first one just a little bit better. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more retiring stamp set ideas and inspiration.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
