Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. I was out of town over the weekend and forgot to set the post to publish - sorry! We were tasked with making Spring Flower cards and I wanted to use some of my retiring products to make these pop-up easel cards. I love Irises - they are one of my favorite flowers! I have planted some around my home that are a beautiful shade of light purplish-blue, so Purple Posy was a perfect choice to replicate it with my cards.
I used the Inspiring Iris stamp set, 2019-2021 In Color DSP and colors (Purple Posy and Pretty Peacock) as well as the Butterfly Duet punch for these cards - all are retiring and available through the end of May (or until supplies are exhausted). Please see below for more photos of the cards - the base card was cut to 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2". I glued only the bottom half of the card front to the bottom half of the scored card base so that it would fold up like an easel and be propped up by the little butterfly punch which I popped up on the inside of the card with some mini stampin' dimensionals.
Here is version one which features the Pretty Peacock more than the Purple Posy. I used one of the dies from the Tasteful Labels dies collection for the image panel on the front of the card and made this one a sympathy card. For the inside I decided to leave the images as black and white to go along with the sentiment. What I love about this stamp set is how easy it is to "color" the images. It is a photopolymer set and there are solid images that line up perfectly with the detailed line art images. I used those to color the foliage and flowers using Purple Posy and Pretty Peacock ink pads. Easy-peasey.
For this card, I used more of the Purple Posy and made a thank you card. I stamped the image on a die cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies collection. Like with my other card, I only "colored" the image on the front of the card.
So which one is your favorite? I think I like the first one just a little bit better. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more Spring Flower card ideas and inspiration.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
