Hello and thanks so much for visiting!! Today our theme for Sunday Fun Day over on the Sisters in Stamping blog is Fun Fold cards. I looked on Pinterest for some inspiration and decided that I wanted to try a Dutch Door card. I haven't used the True Love DSP in a while so dusted it off and combined it with the To A Wild Rose stamp set to make this gorgeous black and white card. I always love a bold pop of color when making these mostly monochromatic cards, I think it adds interest.
Here is a graphic of all the patterns in this beautiful True Love 12 x 12 DSP package. Aren't they fabulous?
I love that you can leave these papers uncolored, or color a flower or two with stampin' blends or stampin' write markers (see the flower above that I colored using the Poppy Parade and Old Olive stampin' blends), or even add color to the whole piece using a sponge brayer (do you remember this card set I shared back in January month?).
These three photos show how the card opens up - the bottom part is like a Dutch door, hence the name of the fun fold. Please see below for the cutting/scoring directions. I chose to leave the inside blank since there is not a lot of room for a sentiment and a heartfelt handwritten note.
To make this landscape card, start with a half-sheet of card stock measuring 11" x 4-1/4". Using a stampin' trimmer makes the cutting/scoring a breeze (although it was slightly difficult to see the measurements on the ruler against the black card stock). I cut the DSP pieces at 5-3/8" x 2" each.
Finally, here is one more view of my card. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more Fun Fold card ideas and inspiration. I hope you'll give this fun fold card a try - happy stamping!
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
