Hello and thanks so much for visiting!! Today our theme for Sunday Fun Day over on the Sisters in Stamping blog is Stripes.
When I think of stripes, I immediately think masculine, and what better product suite to feature these than the Well Suited suite from the January-June mini catalog. I absolutely love the Well Suited DSP and the great masculine colors. I paired it with the Sailing Home stamp set because stripes also remind me of a nautical theme.
This clean and simple card features both sides of a single piece of DSP from this pack - one side has great bold diagonal stripes in basic black, basic gray, basic white and pacific point. The other side features a thin white stripe on basic gray - this pattern reminds me of a man's suit and the other like a man's tie. Put them together and they're a perfect pair! I kept the stamping super simple so as not to take away from the patterns of the DSP. A simply stamped sailboat image in black and a great little sentiment cut out using the Double Oval punch from the Jan-June catalog makes this the perfect card for any man.
For added texture I used basic gray twine from the Well Suited twine combo pack. I wanted to give it a little more flair, so replicated the knot image from the stamp set. It was a bit tricky to figure out, but I got it to work and love how it looks on the card!
For the inside of my card I left it blank, but added a thin stripe of the diagonal stripe DSP pattern. I like how that looks, don't you?
Finally, here is one more view of my card. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more Stripes card ideas and inspiration.
