Hello and happy Sunday!! This week for Sunday Fun Day over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing projects featuring the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers from Stampin' Up! I used the Springtime Joy stamp set for my card design.
If you are unfamiiliar with the Stampin' Blends markers, their ink is alcohol-based and are sold in a set of two - including a light and dark version of our exclusive colors. That makes the blending a no-brainer and you'll always have beautiful color coordination with Stampin' Up! card stock, ink and Designer Series Papers. In addition, these markers are dual-tipped, with a brush tip at one end a finer point at the other for more detailed coloring. Whenever coloring with the Stampin' Blends, be sure to only use the Memento Tuxedo Black ink for your outline images as this ink is formulated to work with alcohol inks. This ink pad is my go-to anytime I want to use black (unless I am watercoloring and then I will use StazOn). It won't harm my photopolymer stamps and also I like that it is a little bit more of a softer black color.
I love this lamb image from the Springtime Joy stamp set and chose colors from the Subtles color collection for my card. I will definitely be using it again for my Easter cards, but for now it is a Welcome Spring card!
But, Spring is definitely not here in Central Virginia today... we got our second snowfall in a week overnight. My pup Bruno was having fun out there earlier today.
I stamped the images on a piece of whisper white card stock cut out using a large circle die from the Layering Circles dies set. I also added texture to the Blushing Bride card stock using one of the embossing folders in the Meadown Moments set. The card base is cut from Highland Heather - this is such a pretty purple! I stamped the sentiment with Highland Heather ink on a 1/4" strip of soft sea foam card stock and the ends were notched with my paper snips. The colors of Stampin' Blends I used to color the images include Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Petal Pink. So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam. The dark crumb cake was a bit too dark so I used the Color Lifter to soften it.
Here is another view of this card. I really like how this turned out and will try to color more often now that I have started to build up my collection of Stampin' Blends. Don't forget to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what my fellow designers created.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week!
