Hi there and welcome to the January 2021 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing projects designed with the new Sale-a-Bration items that you can earn for FREE with a qualifying $50 (choose a Level 1 item) and $100 (choose a Level 2 item or two Level 1 items) purchase now through February 28th. I decided to share a set of cards that I created using the Level 2 stamp set called A Touch of Ink.
I paired this great stamp set A Touch of Ink (get it for free with a qualifying $100 merchandise order) with the True Love DSP from the Jan-June catalog. I love the versatility of the black and white patterns! I used one strip of DSP that was cut to 3-3/4" x 12" from a single pattern (flowers on one side, diagonal stripes on the other) which I then cut down to two 5" x 3-3/4" pieces and one 3-3/4" x 2" piece for these cards. I left two as-is (black and white), and colored the other - don't you love the versatility of this DSP?!
And best of all, if you purchase all of the items listed in the above grid, you'll qualify to earn this Sale-a-Bration Level 2 A Touch of Ink stamp set for FREE!!
For this card, I colored the butterfly image with Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron stampin' blend markers. I left the DSP as is, and added a strip of ribbon from the Ornate Garden ribbon combo pack. It is actually Terra Cotta, but works with this card. The mat piece of card stock that is offset underneath the stamped panel was cut from cajun craze card stock. I love how all of these shades of orange work so well together, without looking like a black and orange Halloween card.
For this card, I used a sponge brayer and colored the DSP with pool party ink. It looks like a completely different piece of DSP, doesn't it? And it works so well as a background for my beautiful hummingbird. I colored the bird image with bermuda bay, pool party, poppy parade and smoky slate stampin' blends. The white ribbon is from the Flowers for Every Season ribbon combo pack. I have really loved using this wider white ribbon on so many projects.
Here's a view of the flower card - I flipped the DSP over to reveal the bold black and white diagonal striped pattern. I think it works well with this image. The flower was colored with poppy parade, pumpkin pie and old olive stampin' blends. I finished the card with a piece of old olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden ribbon pack.
So which card is your favorite? I love all of these images, so it's hard for me to pick a favorite. Next time I will use the solid image stamps in the set to color them to give a more artistic look on my project. I hope I have inspired you with this card set.
