Hi there and welcome to the December 2020 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing Holiday Happenings-themed projects and I decided to make a gift set consisting of a gratitude journal, matching pen and chocolate favor featuring the Snowflake Splendor DSP. The patterns and colors in this designer paper are fantastic, I really love it and have used it on so many projects the last few weeks!
Here is a photo of my gratitude journal and matching pen. This year has been such a train-wreck and I think staying positive and remembering all the blessings in our lives through a gratitude journal help to put things in perspective, don't you? And this brightly colored snowflake DSP can't help but put a smile on your face! The notebook is a composition notebook - these are super inexpensive during the back-to-school sales and I always pick up a few to have on hand. They cover so easily and make nice gifts.
Do you recognize the "Joy" here? I found it on a sticker sheet in the Wonders of the Season Memories & More pack in the Holiday catalog. It is trimmed in gold, but you can't really see it in this photo. I mounted it on a piece of pacific point card stock cut out with the Label Me Lovely punch. The Highland Heather card stock strip banner was notched using the Banners Pick-a-Punch.
I also covered the back and inside cover of the composition notebook with pacific point card stock and created a small pocket. I used another strip of the gorgeous DSP here also.
And lastly, I added some DSP to my pen with Tear & Tape adhesive. I did curl/break the fibers of the DSP with a bone folder to help it curl around the pen. I thought about inserting into a clear-barreled pen but love these ballpoint pens and the color works with the DSP!
Here's a view of the chocolate holder - I was able to fit 4 of these yummy Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares inside and decorated it with a different pattern of the DSP from the Snowflake Splendor pack. Who doesn't love receiving chocolate, especially when packaged like this??
This gives you a good view of the favor box - I left it open at the top but the ribbon keeps the chocolates from falling out and to access them you don't have to destroy the box. I stamped a sentiment from the Tag Buffet stamp set with pacific point ink on a piece of Highland Heather card stock cut out using the Tailored Tag. Recognize the ribbon? It is from the Flowers for Every for Every season pack (yes, I've been using these ribbons a lot lately also!).
Here is what the favor box looks like from above - you can see the chocolate squares tucked inside nice and pretty and no worries about them falling out since the ribbon will keep them inside.
Here's one last look at this chocolate favor box. For even more Holiday Happenings ideas and inspiration, be sure to check out the rest of the projects on the Hop by using the links below.
