Hello and Happy Friday! I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends yesterday and stuffed yourself with turkey!! With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas just 4 short weeks away, we're sharing Red and Green Christmas cards for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog to give you more ideas and inspiration to get those handstamped cards made and in the mail soon.
I decided to use the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set along with the Tag Buffet set that I used in last week's project. I really like these stamp sets and think they work well together. I like that they're both sets that offer versatility and can be used to embellish your envelopes and make tags.
Here is another view of my card. I decided to use a piece of crumb cake card stock for my background stamped panel since I knew I would be using a whisper white card base. I used the foliage pieces to form a wreath using garden green ink with the larger leaves image and shaded spruce ink with the smaller leaves image. I figured out that a 2-3/4" diameter circle works best and thankfully found a jar with a lid that size that I used as a guide. I outlined it lightly with a pencil and you can't even see it under the ink. After stamping the foliage (I inked full strength and without re-inking to get variation in color), I went back over it wih the berries image and real red ink.
I used the corner image with soft suede ink to embellish the corners of the stamped panel and added a tiny pearl jewel in each. The Merry Christmas sentiment (from the Tag Buffet stamp set) was added to a 1" strip of whisper white card stock that I cut using the Lovely Labels Pick-a-Punch. And you must know by now how much I love the Plaid Tidings DSP pack - I had to add a strip to my card. And check out that cute bow! It's made from the Real Red Braided Linen Trim that is available in the Holiday catalog.
For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Tag Buffet stamp set using shaded spruce ink and then embellished in the upper right corner using the leaf foliage image from the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set with garden green ink. Once that was done I added a hanging ornament stamped with real red ink.
Here is one last view of my card. For even more fabulous red & green Christmas card ideas and insiration, please be sure to hop on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog.
