Hello and Happy Friday! This week we're featuring masculine cards for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. I always have a hard time with these, so appreciate the challenge. I tend to use nature-themed stamp sets and texture when creating masculine cards. This week's project features the Waterfront set along with the Greenery Embossing Folders. I also pulled out my Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set for the sentiment as I wanted to make a birthday card.
Here are the images in this stamp set - they don't look like much, but there are some fabulous card creations out there on Pinterest using this stamp set. I must admit, even I feel artistic after using it! Did you happen to pick up this set when it was on sale last month?
As you can see in these photos, I used lots of blues and greens for my card. The card base is night of navy card stock that I embellished with a strip of embossed balmy blue card stock and a mat of mint macaron card stock for the stamped panel. For the "lake" I used balmy blue ink that I stamped multiple times using the larger triangle image which gives the illusion of depth in the water and also helped to fill in the space. The mountain range is stamped with early espresso ink. The trees as well as the sentiment are stamped with shaded spruce ink and the forest ground with soft suede ink. I am really happy with how easily this came together!
Here is a close-up of the stamped panel. You can see more clearly how I stamped multiple generations of the same inking to give the illusion of depth of the trees, which also filled in the white space and from a distance looks like grass. Win-win!
Here you can see the texture added from the embossing folder. It looks like leaves, so worked well with the nature theme and also isn't too girly.
Here is one last view of my masculine birthday card. For more ideas and inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what my fellow designers created this week.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!
