Hello and Happy Friday! This week for our Fabulous Friday projects we are sharing cards designed using a fun color combination over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. I decided to make another easel card, once again being inspired by this card shared by Sharon Burkert in the August Stampers Dozen Blog Hop. For those of you who have asked for dimensions/directions, I plan to have that for you in the coming days. If you don't want to miss it, please be sure to subscribe to get that notification.
These colors are just so pretty together and scream SUMMER to me. Of course, I have always felt like the Brights color palette was summery with the bright and cheerful colors. I really love the Flirty Flamingo as a pink option, Coastal Cabana is one of my favorite greens (my kids tell me it's blue) and Pacific Point is a great blue.
Here is a view of the card flat - it's hard to photograph since it doesn't really lie flat due to the flowers inside that hold up the easel part of the card. I stamped the smaller flower all over a piece of flirty flamingo card stock with flirty flamingo ink to create my own DSP and then cut that into strips. The leaves were stamped on coastal cabana card stock with coastal cabana ink and fussy cut and glued to the stamped panel. The large flower was stamped with crumb cake ink on flirty flamingo card stock (it was just too light with the flirty flamingo ink to show much detail) and then I used a flirty flamingo stampin' write marker to color the details. Lastly, I used an early espresso to highlight the detail of the center of the flower.
Here is a close-up of the card opened up. I used two little flowers cut out with the Small Bloom punch, added some coastal cabana rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones packet and popped them up with dimensionals and that is what holds the easel up for this card. The leaves
Here is a close-up of the inside stamped panel. I used Pacific Point ink for the sentiment and stamped the leaf with Coastal Cabana ink.
Here is aother view of the card opened up - this is such a fun and easy card to create.
Here is one last view of my easel card. For more color combo ideas and inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what my fellow designers created this week.
