Oh my goodness! I totally forgot to publish this post on Friday... sorry it's a bit late!
Hello and Happy Friday! Today we are featuring Father's Day cards for Fabulous Friday over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. I used the Rooted in Nature and Birch background stamp sets along with the Stitched Nested Labels dies for my card this week. This card was perfect for my husband since he is in lumber sales. I just knew I needed the Rooted in Nature set when it first debuted a few years ago because of his job!
What is your go-to set for these kinds of cards? I try to go for nature-themed stamp sets and the Rooted in Nature stamp set is perfect for masculine cards.
I chose to keep the color palette pretty neutral, using crumb cake, early espresso, garden green, sahara sand, shaded spruce, soft suede and whisper white. Do you notice all of the sponging I did on this card? The sahara sand card stock panel and each of the whisper white die cuts are sponged with crumb cake ink.
The tree image is colored with stampin' write markers and then I huffed on the image prior to stamping to give it a watercolored look. The marker colors blend so well when you use this technique prior to stamping. And I wanted to give the look of sewing, so I used the fine point on my early espresso marker to trace the dotted outline in the die cuts.
Here is one last view of my card. For more Father's Day card ideas and inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what my fellow designers created this week.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous Father's Day weekend!
