Hi there and welcome to the January 2020 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing projects that feature Sale-a-Bration products. I chose to feature the Thoughtful Blooms photopolymer stamp set to create this note card set. It has felt like Spring here in Central Virginia recently so I chose some soft spring colors from the Subtles collection for my color palette.
In case you missed the news, it is Sale-a-Bration time at Stampin' Up! Now through March 31st you can earn FREE product with qualifying $50 and $100 orders! The more you buy, the more you earn. I featured the Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-Bration stamp set a few weeks ago (see that post HERE) and now I am sharing another option.
I started by stamping a sheet of whisper white card stock with various images from the stamp set using the following Subtles collection colors: Balmy Blue, Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron. My original piece was 11" x 4-1/2" and I photographed it, then cut it up to create my cards. Lo and behold when I went to upload my photo I had an error on my camera for that picture... so I quickly restamped a 6" x 6" piece to photograph (not sure why the colors look off) and now I will have this for future cards. Anyway, all 3 of my cards in this note card set have a piece of this cut to 4-1/2" x 3" and I ended up with a 2" piece left over that I can use on another project.
As you can see, I basically made all the cards the same. Each piece of my stamped background card stock was matted with a 4-7/8" x 3-1/8" piece of colored card stock and I used the Label Me Lovely to cut a hole out of the center. This is what I used to mat behind the stamped panel - I simply cut it in half across the middle and glued it behind the stamped piece. No waste and it will always coordinate because it is from the same piece of card stock. I also had a 3-1/8" x 1" strip of colored card stock to attach behind. Which color combination do you like best? I lean toward the Highland Heather one because the color is a little more bold. I also like the portrait orientation of the card more so than the landscape.
Here is a close-up view of the stamped panel - I stamped the leaves first with pear pizzazz on a strip of whisper white card stock then added the sentiment with balmy blue ink. Then I cut it out using the Label Me Lovely punch - so much easier to line it up that way! There is a coordinating punch, Small Bloom punch, that works with the larger flower images in this stamp set that you can earn with a $100 order. I have not received it yet so fussy cut the flowers with my paper snips. I finished off each flower with a small rhinestone jewel. Just a little bling but it really makes the note card feel special.
And here is one last look at my note card set. I love using the whisper white and very vanilla Note Card & Envelopes to make sets of cards to have on hand and to give away as a gift.
