Hello and Happy Friday! We are featuring the versatility of Punches for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog today. If you've been following me for any time at all, you know that I LOVE punches!! Any time I don't have to cut something out by hand or lug out my Big Shot is great because I am all about the quick and easy for my cards.
This is the Cat punch that I used with my card today. It is great because I was able to use the negative with my card front and the piece that was cut out was used inside the card (scroll down to see). I love that versatility!!
Here's another view of my card. I used a piece of the DSP from the Magnolia Lane pack - it is so beautiful! The color palette is from the DSP: blushing bride, early espresso, mossy meadow and whisper white. The stamp sets used are Happy Tails (great sentiments for both dogs and cats) as well as the Sale-a-Bration selection Thoughtful Blooms (did you see my recent post with the note card set made with this set?).
I created a sympathy card because my sister Cindy lost her sweet Emmie this past week. It is always so hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet and what better way to show someone you care about them by sending a hand-stamped card - it's like sending a hug in the mail.
I stamped two of the flower images on a scrap of whisper white card stock using Blushing Bride ink and for just a hint ff color, I added a tiny flower stamped with Highland Heather in the center of the flower. I fussy cut it as one flower and added a small pearl to the center. I also curled up the petals to give the flower more dimension on the card.
This views show the negative left behind from the Cat punch. I cut that out first, then stamped the sentiment and added the floral images. The paw print was inked with the Early Espresso ink pad, stamped off once on my grid paper, then stamped onto the card.
Here is how I designed the inside of my card - the piece that was cut out with the Cat punch was stamped with a small heart image from the Happy Tails stamp set using Blushing Bride ink and then glued onto the inside of the card. I also added the sympathy sentiment from that set with Early Espresso ink.
Here is one more look at my Cat punch card. For even more ideas and inspiration using punches please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created this week.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!
