Hi there and welcome to the October 2019 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing Fall cards. Here in Central Virginia the leaves are just starting to turn - I hear that since we've been in a drought the last few months the colors are not supposed to be as pretty. So I decided to use the Rooted in Nature stamp set and the thumping technique with several stampin' write markers to create my own beautiful fall tree.
Here is another view of my project. I used cajun craze, crushed curry and old olive ink pads to create my stamped leaf background on very vanilla card stock and sponged the edges with crumb cake ink. The sentiment and tree trunk are done with early espresso ink. To color the tree, I first inked the stamp with a crushed curry ink pad then "thumped" various markers on the leaf area of the stamp (starting with my lightest color and working to the darkest) using pumpkin pie, cajun craze, old olive, garden green, merry merlot and early espresso markers. I also used the earl espresso marker to color the trunk and branches. Then I huffed on it to moisten the ink to allow them to blend and then stamped. Easy-peasey and that is how you achieve this look.
Here is a close-up of the bow - I used the braided linen trim to make it and attached it to the strip of trim using a mini glue dot. I love the texture that it adds to the card.
Here's a view of the inside of the card- I left it super simple with an old olive stamped image in the bottom corner and sponged edges with crumb cake ink.
Here is one last view of my card. For even more Fall-inspired card ideas, be sure to check out the rest of the projects on the Hop by using the links below.
