Hello and Happy Friday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing Graduation cards because it is that time of year. I decided to make one for my son's friend, whose school colors are red, white and blue. I used the In Color blueberry bushel along with real red and whisper white for the color palette for my pocket card. Many of the products used on this card can be found on the Last-Chance products list (retiring at the end of this month) including the Sunshine Wishes thinlits dies used to cut out the "Congrats" with the Big Shot, the All the Good Things stamp set used on the inside of the card and both ribbons.
Here you can see the empty pocket base card as well as the card I stamped to put inside. I didn't have any current Graduation themed stamp sets so used the sentiments from the All the Good Things stamp set. To make it easier to stamp the words, I cut them from the fish image. To make the first sentiment stand out, I stamped it on a piece of whisper white and cut it out using the Everyday Label punch. I attached it to a post-it note and fed it back into the punch to make a smaller cut. Since I didn't want to put it on with stampin' dimensionals but wanted to make it stand out, I ran the edge of the brush tip of the blueberry bushel along the outer edge of the punch to give just a slight border.
Since this card is for a boy, I didn't want to get too frilly and add a tassel. I wanted to give the impression of a graduation cap, though, so I cut out a 1" square of basic black card stock and added a medium pearl that I had colored with a black permanent marker. This was popped up on the card with stampin' dimensionals.
Here is one last view of my card. This card is pretty clean and simple and not too difficult to put together. For even more fabulous Graduation card ideas and inspiration, please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created this week.
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!
