Hi there and welcome to the February 2019 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are celebrating 5 years of hopping! How cool is that?! I was lucky enough to be invited to join this wonderful group of stampers 1-1/2 years ago and have loved the challenges and inspiration I have received ever since! This month is an "Anything Goes" theme and I was torn about what to create. There are so many wonderful Stampin' Up! products and techniques out there and I finally settled on this U-Fold card featuring the fun How Sweet It Is DSP from the Occasions catalog.
Isn't this a fun card? I'll be honest, I was looking for some inspiration so just searched for "3D cards" on Pinterest hoping to find a new fun fold card to try and saw a few that I liked. This snowman card has a tutorial but the card was too big and this wine bottle card went to a link that wasn't in English so didn't help. I finally just took out some scrap paper and played around until I figured it out. If you'd like to receive a link to a tutorial, I will send it to my subscribers over the weekend (if you aren't a subscriber, please add your email address at the top of my blog).
Since this is a 3D card it was difficult to capture without some shadows. I hope you can see how it looks from the different angles I used to photograph it.
This card came together relatively easily once I got the dimensions figured out because it is mostly DSP - even the cupcake was cut out from a sheet in the pack. I did stamp the sentiment from the Hello Cupcake stamp set using Gorgeous Grape ink. Did you know that if you place a $50+ product order from me you get this set for FREE during Sale-a-Bration?! How great is that?? I did use my Big Shot and the Layering Squares framelits to cut out both the window on the card front and the scalloped square that the cupcake is attached to on the inside of my card. The only other embellishment is the cute little bow made from the mint macaron twine found in the Nature's Twine pack in the annual catalog.
Just think, if you were to purchase the Layering Squares framelits ($35), How Sweet It Is DSP ($11) and Nature's Twine ($9) you could earn the stamp set for FREE!, but only through March 31st while the Sale-a-Bration promotion is in effect. Contact me to place an order or use the current Host Code online and get the Sweet Pins & Tags ($5.00) as a thank you from me (see below in the Promotions section for more details).
Here's a photo of how the card folds to fit in a standard A2 envelope. Pretty nifty I think!
Here is one more view of my card - I really love how this turned out and think it might end up being a project for my Card Club later this month. Be sure to check back tomorrow to see my Fabulous Friday project for the Sisters in Stamping blog and don't forget to follow the hop to see what the other designers created for the 5 year anniversary celebration.
Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!
