Hello and Happy Friday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring fun folds on our cards for Fabulous Friday. Sometimes you just get tired of the simple card fold and want to try something with a little more pizzazz... that is where fun folds come in! I decided to go with an oldie-but-goodie called the Big Buckle fold. Here is a link to Pinterest where you can find the directions - I did modify it a tiny bit as you can see. I used my brand new Beach Happy stamp set from the Occasions catalog with the Tropical Escape 6" x 6" DSP from the Annual catalog - a great pairing, don't you think?
This is a view of how the card opens - the end of the scalloped tag tucks into the hole I cut out from the front of the card using the Classic Label punch.
Here are close-up views of the front panel of the card and the belt flap. I stamped the palm fronds image with shaded spruce ink and then cut it out and mounted it with a stampin' dimensional to the palm tree base after adding a tiny rhinestone jewel accent. The flower and leaves that are at the bottom left corner of the card were actually cut from a sheet of the DSP, embellished with a tiny rhinestone and popped up with a stampin' dimensional.
On the flap, I inked the sentiment with shaded spruce ink, stamped the outline image of the beach hat on blushing bride card stock with soft suede ink, cut it out and embellished the hat band with a rhinestone jewel accent. It was added with a tiny dimensional to the sentiment... fun, right?!
And not wanting to forget the inside of the card I stamped the "Don't worry, beach happy" sentiment with shaded spruce ink.
Here is one more view of my big buckle fun fold thank you card. I really love how it turned out - the Tropical Escape DSP pairs perfectly with the Beach Happy stamp set from the Occasions catalog!
