Fabulous Friday: Quick and Easy Christmas Card

 Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting!  Can you believe today is the last day of November already?  Christmas is just around the corner and this week we are sharing Quick & Easy Christmas cards for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog.  

  There's nothing like being able to send family and friends hand-stamped Christmas cards, and simple quick and easy cards can be just as beautiful as one that took you hours to make.  I created my card using the awesome Gold Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes set that is in the Holiday catalog - you get 2o of these beautiful cards with matching envelopes!  I added a piece of DSP from the All is Bright pack - WOW, this is awesome DSP!  And to that I added two die cuts from the Big Shot - a real red card stock oval and gorgeous deer cut from a gold foil sheet.  The sentiment was stamped on a small strip of whisper white card stock that I notched with my paper snips and VOILA - a quick and easy card that is stunning.

 

  How beautiful is this deer die-cut?!  I love all the gold details on this card from the trim on the base card to the ornaments on the DSP.

 

  And here is a look at the inside of the card with a simple sentiment from the Timeless Tidings stamp set that says it all.

Fabulous Friday: Flourishing Phrases Sympathy card

 
 Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting!  This week we are sharing Sympathy cards for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog.  There's nothing like receiving a hand-stamped card and for someone who is hurting from a recent loss it really shows how much you care.

 

  I created my card using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and a color combination of Merry Merlot, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  The background piece was created by stamping the large floral image all over the card stock to mimic designer paper.  I love how it turned out.  

 

 

  The main focal image is the large flower from the stamp set.  I stamped it on whisper white card stock and then cut it out and popped it up on a circle cut using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes framelits.  I added a simple banner with the sympathy sentiment and finished the flower with a pearl.  

 

 
  And here is a look at the inside of the card with a sentiment and leaves from the stamp set.  I sometimes find it hard to get the words right in sympathy cards and love that Stampin' Up! has this great sentiment that says it all.

Stampers Dozen November Blog Hop: Color Challenge Pretty Pink Snowflake card

 

  

 Hi there and welcome to the November Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are creating projects with a fun color challenge featuring Merry Merlot, Powder Pink and Silver Foil.  I decided to go with an unconventional Christmas card using the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set.  

 

    These colors are really pretty together and I really like how this card turned out.  I turned to my trusty Big Shot and several framelits including the Seasonal Layers thinlits and Stitched Shapes framelits to create it.  i also used the different snowflakes in the stamp set to create my own background.  

 

  I cut the snowflake out of the center of the silver foil mat and my scratched up cutting pad transferred those scratches to the foil, but I like the texture it left behind.

 

  Here is a view of the inside of the card - I added one of each snowflake in the bottom left corner and added a sentiment in the center.

Fabulous Friday: Happy 30th Anniversary throwback card

 

 Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting!  In honor of the 30th Anniversary of Stampin' Up! this week, Karla asked us to use the first stamp set we ever bought for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog.  I think that the first set that I ever purchased way back in 2001 was Frosty, but sadly I could not locate it in my craft room and think I may have sold it.  So I pulled out my Definitely Decorative Toile set that is almost as old (it has a date of 2002 on the sticker) and paired it with the Sincere Salutations set (not as old, but one of my all-time favorites) to create this monochromatic birthday card.  

 

  I *LOVE* a stamp set that I can use to create my own backgrounds and this Toile set is one I used many, many times in the past.  It is beautiful with basic black, real red and even cherry cobbler.  My favorite, though, is with night of navy and this time I added a layer of smoky slate card stock to match the silver embossing on the sentiment.  I stamped a piece of card stock that was 4-7/8" x 3-3/4" and then cut it into 1-5/8" strips and glued them to the smoky slate card stock mat.    I tied a strip of the gorgeous (but sadly retired) whisper white organza ribbon and knotted it before I glued the mat to my night of navy card base.

 

 
  Here is a close-up of the sentiment - I stamped one of the images from the Toile set in Night of Navy and used a Blender Pen to smear the ink to color the berries.  Next I used Versamark ink with the sentiment and silver embossing powder to get this beautiful heat embossing.  It has been a while since I embossed and I am always amazed when it magically turns from powder into this beautiful smooth silver. I cut out the oval and mat using the Layering Ovals framelits with my Big Shot.  

 

  And here is a look at the inside of the card with a different image from the Toile set.  I also colored the flowers with a Blender Pen just like the berries on the front of the card.  It's subltle and I love the look!

Fabulous Friday: Polka Dot Whimsical Reindeer Christmas card

 

 Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting!  This week over over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Cindy asked us to create projects featuring RIBBON for Fabulous Friday.  I don't use a lot of ribbon, so no out-of-the-box thinking on my card here.  I do love the whimsy of this Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle ribbon, which I tied in a simple bow on the card.  

 

 

  I paired the ribbon with the equally whimsical Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and Under the Mistletoe DSP.  Here is a side shot of my card - you can see that I popped up the reindeer head on the layered oval panel.  I also stamped the nose with real red ink and cut it to make Rudolph.  The sentiment was stamped on a small strip of whisper white card stock that I notched on each end with my paper snips and popped up on the card.
