Happy Friday and thanks so much for checking in today! This week we are featuring our favorite embellishments as the featured product for our Fabulous Friday projects over over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. And if you've been following me for any time at all you know I absolutely LOVE rhinestones for the bling and versatility they offer projects.
My card this week features plain rhinestones as well as some that I colored using a Daffodil Delight dark Stampin' Blend marker. Don't they look AMAZING? Now you can have rhinestone accents in ANY color that the Stampin' Blend markers come in... how exciting! The Flourishing Phrases stamp set is one that I find myself going back to over and over - it is a great one with some fabulous images and sentiments for most occasions all in one set! And there is even an awesome Big Shot framelits set that coordinates perfectly with this set.
I decided to use a color palette of garden green, calypso coral and daffodil delight with whisper white - with Fall right around the corner I like this combination right now. I added the "Congratulations" sentiment on a banner that I stapled (using the retired hand-held mini stapler) to the stamped panel and I curved it a little so it would have some dimension on the card front, too. I also added some texture to the daffodil delight card stock strip using the Tufted dynamic textured impressions folder (my current fave). That card stock strip really helps pop the daffodil delight rhinestones I feel. This is a super simple card layout that lets the embellishments shine (pun intended!!).
Here is a close-up view of the rhinestones that I colored with the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend marker. It is best to color them directly on the sheet that the rhinestones come on rather than on your project. Let them dry for a few minutes and then you're good to go!
Not forgetting the inside of the card I added a section of the solid flower image from this stamp set in calypso coral, leaving plenty of room to write. Check out that colored rhinestone that I added to the center of it, too!
Here is one more view of my card - I really love how bling-y this card turned out, perfect for celebrating a dear friend's achievement! For even more fabulous embellishment ideas please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created for your inspiration.
