Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting! This week over over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Jennifer asked us to CASE a project from the 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog for our Fabulous Friday proejct. Here is what I came up with this week - what do you think?
I decided to use this card above (on page 29) from the Joyous Noel suite of products as my inspiration. Rather than make a small little note card, I created a 4-1/4" square card that can be mailed in a regular envelope (and with no extra postage!). Since the DSP is double-sided I went ahead and made two cards. Which do you like better? I used the Under the Mistletoe DSP from the Annual catalog and pulled my colors from it: night of navy, old olive, real red and shaded spruce.
This was a simple enough layout to CASE - I cut my DSP into two 4" x 4" squares and then cut them on a diagonal at the same time in my paper cutter. That way I could swap out the two little triangles and make two cards. This sheet of DSP had two patterns that actually went really well together and it would be easy to make 8 cards with one sheet. The mat for the sentiment was cut using the Big Shot and Merry Christmas thinlits and the sentiment is from the Cookie Cutter photopolymer stamp set. I embellished with some gold thread and a few rhinestones... easy-peasy!
If you are wondering why I didn't say 9 cards (you get 9 x 4" squares from a single sheet of 12" x 12" DSP), it's because I trimmed off a 1/4" strip of DSP for the inside of the card. Plus 8 is an even number and it is easy to cut 2 at a time.
Here is one more view of my CASE'd Christmas cards. Don't forget that the Stampin' Up! catalogs not only showcase the fabulous product offering but also serve as a great resource for card layout ideas and color combinations for your stamping inspiration. Don't be afraid to CASE! For even more fabulous Holiday Catalog CASE'd projects please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created for your inspiration.
