Hi there and welcome to the September Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are creating projects featuring new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog products, but NOT Christmas cards. I have to admit that when I first previewed this catalog several months ago I absolutely fell in love with the First Frost stamp set. I have way too many florals in my collection, but I just had to have this one! I paired it with the new Buffalo Check background stamp - what a versatile stamp!
This is a clean and simple layout and I decided to stamp on crumb cake card stock to change things up a bit. I cut out the two flowers and layered them on top of the foliage image. The flowers were inked up with the new Highland Heather color - it's beautiful! I also used that same ink to stamp the Buffalo Check for the strip of card stock. I love how well the old olive works with this shade of purple. It's really hard to see, but I used my Wink of Stella clear glimmer brush to add "frost" to the flowers and leaves. I tried to capture it with my camera but I think I failed. It is really shimmery in real life, I promise! For embellishment I added a sweet little linen thread bow - perfect for a rustic look.
And for the inside of the card I kept it super simple with a foliage stamp on the left and a larger flower in the corner (stamped off twice to keep it nice and light).
