Happy Friday and thanks so much for checking in today! This week we are featuring an awesome card sketch that Jennifer Rawlings created for us to use for our Fabulous Friday cards over over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. I must admit I struggled a little with this challenge, my brain wants to be so literal and follow the sketch exactly. I did stray just a little, but not too much! I decided to use the Beautiful Day stamp set - I love the large flower image in this set and the sentiment worked perfectly for the banner.
This is also my attempt to use the Stampin' Blends markers - I'm not completely at ease with coloring and shading but I am happy with how the flower turned out. The DSP strips are actually from the In Color stack, but the pineapple punch and grapefruit grove work great with the calypso coral and daffodil delight colors that I used on the flower.
And not forgetting the inside of the card I added a small strip of the DSP to a whisper white card stock panel for just a little pop of color. I did not stamp a sentiment on the inside so I would have more room to write as this type of card lends itself to that, don't you think?
Here is one more view of my card - I do love how this card turned out! For even more sketch challenge ideas please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created for your inspiration.
