Happy Friday and thanks so much for checking in today! This week we are featuring Back-to-School projects for Fabulous Friday over on the Sisters in Stamping blog since it is just about that time. My son Brandon, who will be a Junior in High School this year, starts on Tuesday. Kelsey will be heading to the University of Kentucky next Friday for her sophomore year and Amanda returns to George Mason University as a Junior the following Friday. I can' t believe summer is over already!
I decided to alter a 5" x 7" notebook that I had on hand using the gorgeous new Petal Promenade DSP that I got in this week in my Stampin' Up! order. I thought this would be perfect for one of my girls to write down homework assignments - what do you think?
The DSP is gorgeous all on its own so I kept the embellishment pretty minimal. I added an "N" for Naylor that I cut out of grapefruit grove card stock with my Big Shot and the Large Letters framelits. I added it to a 2" circle of very vanilla card stock cut out with my punch and a sahara sand scalloped circle cut with the Layering Circles framelits. Two pearls finish it off.
Do you recognize this sentiment? I used it last week (see that blog post here) and really love it! It is from the Artfully Folded host set. Wonder how I layered this? It is made of three layers of card stock cut using the classic label punch. I just staggered them to create this look. The sentiment fit perfectly inside this, too! Remember, stamp first then turn the punch upside down and easily cut it out!
Here is one more view of my notebook - I just love that the flowers in the DSP match the flower arrangement I keep on my desk! For even more back-to-school project ideas please hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my fellow designers created for your inspiration.
