Happy Friday! Cindy asked us to create a project featuring silver or gold for our Fabulous Friday projects for the Sisters in Stamping blog this week. That reminds me of the Burl Ives song from the Rudolph movie, how about you? Rather than go with another Christmas card, I decided to feature silver embossing with a flower card. I embossed the focal image and one sentiment with silver embossing. Was I able to pull it off? You be the judge!
Here is a close-up of the embossed flower image - I colored in the flowers using my stampin' write markers with colors that I pulled from the Garden Impressions DSP strip that I attached to the card front. I embellished the centers of the solid silver flowers with rhinestones. This card is super simple, but I wanted to really highlight the silver embossing. I made my card base from smoky slate card stock to really reinforce the silver theme.
Here is another view of my card - so do you think this card works? I have never used silver embossing for anything other than Christmas cards so this was way out of my comfort zone. For even more silver and gold project inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
