Happy Friday! It's hard to believe we are halfway through April already - where has this year gone?!?! Have you completed your taxes? I finally got mine done a few days ago. Every year I say I am going to get started earlier and then life happens... is it like that for you, too? So happy to have that task behind me now and on to more fun to-do's. This week it is my turn to choose the theme for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog and I asked my fellow designers to create projects featuring the Designer Series Paper (DSP) of their choice.
I decided to create a monochromatic card featuring the Tranquil Tide papers from the Fresh Florals DSP stack. This stack is a great value - you get 40 sheets, 4 each of 2 double-sided designs, in the 5 new In Colors for 2017-2019 for $22.00. And the designs are really pretty! To make this card layout just cut 5 strips of any DSP 3-3/4" x 7/8" to fit on a card stock panel cut to 4" x 5-1/4". That fits perfectly on a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card. The great thing about Stampin' Up! DSP is that the patterns/colors in each pack are perfectly coordinated so you can mix and match up the various patterns and have a great card every time!
Here is a close-up of the focal panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set on a scrap of whisper white card stock and then easily cut it out using the Pretty Label punch. To make it stand out a little more against the card I matted it with Tranquil Tide card stock cut out with the 1-3/4" circle punch. To finish it off, I added a few rhinestone jewel accents to add a little bling. This panel added to the card front using stampin' dimensionals. Easy-peasy!
And don't forget to add a small strip of DSP to the inside of the card to bring the beauty in. Scraps work great for this!
Here is another view of my card. If you haven't had a chance to create quick and easy cards with DSP, I highly recommend you give this layout a try! And for even more ideas and inspiration with DSP please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
