Welcome if you're coming from Bonnie's blog on this hop! In case you couldn't tell from my blog post title, we are featuring products from the Sweet Soiree Suite in the Occasions catalog. I decided to focus on the gorgeous Sweet Soiree Specialty designer series paper and coordinating berry burst 3/8" metallic-edge ribbon for my dry erase board.
This specialty DSP is so beautiful - there is silver foil within the paper that gives it great shine and elegance. I cut my piece down to 10" x 8" to fit right inside this black picture frame and added some letters that I cut out with my Big Shot and the Large Letters framelits with marina mist card stock. I added a strip of the really silky berry burst 3/8" metallic-edge ribbon. I also created a 3D paper flower to embellish the frame using various punches and card stock.
It has been a while since I made one of these paper flowers and I always love how they turn out! I used the new Starburst punch along with the pansy to cut powder pink card stock (sponged with calypso coral ink), the 1" circle punch for daffodil delight card stock and the 3/4" circle punch for the center of the flower cut from the silver foil. I spritzed each layer with my stampin' spritzer filled with water, crumbled them to break the fibers and add texture then peeled them apart carefully to reveal a suede-like core. Those are the sides I sponged and had facing up - it really gives the finished flower nice texture. All of the layers are held together with a brad (retired) and the leaves (balloon punch) are glued to the underside of the bottom flower layer. These are fun - the more layers the better, just keep scrunching each layer to give it a real 3-d look.
Here's one more view of my dry erase board. For more Sweet Soiree inspiration, please use the links below. Thanks for visiting me and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!!
