Fabulous Friday: Thankful for You!

   Happy Friday!!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing thank you cards.  I pulled out my Sheltering Tree stamp set because I wanted a fall-themed card and I love the thumping technique for creating fall foliage.  I tried a new color combination and absolutely love it!  This card features the new In Color Peekaboo Peach with Cajun Craze and Chocolate Chip.  Normally, I would use this peach with a summer or spring type of card but I think the cajun craze brings out the orange tones and really makes it perfect for fall as well!  I added a llittle texture with some linen thread and a piece of chocolate chip card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the new Petal Burst texture folder.  Once again, this is intended to look like flower petals, but I think in this case it looks like a bed of fallen leaves.

Fabulous Friday: Spooky Fun Halloween favor

   Happy Friday!!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing Halloween treats and favors created with our favorite Stampin' Up! products.  With Halloween still a week away, there's plenty of time to whip up some fun treats to share with your favorite ghosts and goblins.  I created a little favor using the Spooky Fun stamp set from the Holiday Catalog to hold my favorite peanut butter cups.  I'd say this is definitely more of a treat than a trick, wouldn't you?!

  Here's a close-up of the ghosts - can you see the shimmer?  I filled them in carefully with my clear Wink of Stella glimmer brush.  The favor was super simple to create: I used a piece of old olive card stock that was cut to 8-1/4" x 3"  I scored it at 4" and 4-1/4" and then cut out the hole using the classic label punch.  Then I folded it in half and ran it through the Big Shot using the Large Circles textured impressions folder.   To add the whisper white organza ribbon, I punched two holes in the top through both layers and just fed the ribbon through to create my knot.  Easy-peasy.

12 Weeks of QE Christmas - Week 3 featuring the Wonders of Christmas

  

  Welcome to Week 3 of my 12 Weeks of Quick & Easy Christmas cards!  Sorry for the delay in getting this post out but we were out of town this past weekend for Parents Weekend with my oldest daughter Amanda, who is at George Mason University.  She is a Freshman and loving every minute of it, which makes it a little easier to let her go.  And now, on to this week's card which features the Wonders of Christmas stamp set from the Holiday catalog.  I love this sweet Angel image and there are some great sentiments in this set, too. I love monochromatic cards and the new In Color Dapper Denim works perfectly with whisper white for this card.

Fabulous Friday: Catalog CASE card

   Happy Friday!!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are CASE'ing cards found in the Stampin' Up! catalog.  Do you have one?  Because it's not only a great resource for all of the products that you can purchase, but each stamp set has at least one sample project featured and it provides tons of great inspiration.  To show you how versatile the catalog is, we were tasked with CASE'ing a card for our projects this week for Fabulous Friday.  I chose a Christmas card from page 35 featuring the Reason for the Season stamp set and totally changed it up to make it a birthday card...

  I loved the simplicity of this card layout - only a single layer under the focal image and sentiment which is stamped on a label die cut with the Big Shot.  I used the Balloon Celebration and Stylized Birthday stamp sets for my monochromatic card.

  Here is a close-up of the label.  I used Bermuda Bay ink for my balloons and early espresso for the sentiment.  Cutting out the balloons was super-easy with the coordinating balloon punch!

12 Weeks of QE Christmas - Week 2 featuring Holly Jolly Layers

 

  Welcome to Week 2 of my 12 Weeks of Quick & Easy Christmas cards!  This week's card features the Hostess exclusive stamp set Holly Jolly Layers from the Holiday catalog.  I love how most of the images in this stamp set can be cut out with a coordinating punch.  I also used the new Cable Knit dynamic textured impressions folder for the banner - don't you love how deeply embossed the texture turned out on it? 

  Here is a close-up of the focal image - I love the elegant combination of cherry cobbler with garden green and very vanilla.  A few little pearl accents really set off the medallion, too.

Fabulous Friday: It's all about the Designer Series Paper, Baby!

 

  Happy Friday!!  This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring Designer Series Paper in our project this week for our Fabulous Friday projects in honor of the awesome DSP Sale going on all month (find those details here).  I decided to use the same layout that I did for my Week 1 QE Christmas card shared here on Monday but switched out the Christmas paper for this fun Festive Birthday DSP.  I also used other products from the Festive Birthday suite including the Birthday Fiesta stamp set, Fiesta Time framelits and Festive textured impressions folder for the Big Shot.  How cute are these cactus images?!?!?  My color scheme for this card was pulled from the DSP - crushed curry, emerald envy, melon mambo and whisper white.

  And don't forget the inside of your card!  I used some thin strips from another piece of the DSP in this pack and stamped my birthday sentiment.  It's really easy to line up the images in this stamp set since they're photopolymer!!

  

  Here is a close-up of the cactus and flower - I love how there are framelits to cut each of these out, you know how much I hate to fussy cut!  That's why I love my Big Shot.  And speaking of the Big Shot, how about the awesome Festive folder that is part of this product suite?
