Happy Friday Saturday! Yikes, the week really got away from me... between a Regional High School swim meet out of town on Thursday with my girls and a promotion at work (meaning back-to-back meetings all day Friday), I missed getting a post done yesterday. Better late than never, though, am I right?! Plus, you'll still have this idea to use in time for Valentine's Day tomorrow!!
This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog I asked everyone to create Valentine favors in honor of the big day this weekend. I created my design based on an Easter one I made a couple of years ago (see this post for instructions and dimensions). I love chocolate raspberry as a flavor combination so used that as inspiration for my color palette going with chocolate chip and rose red. The stamp set featured is Groovy Love from the annual catalog - I really love this set - even more because the Sweetheart punch coordinates beautifully with the hearts in this set! The favor is held closed with velcro and the chocolates stay put in a cello bag.
Want to know how I created this heart embellishment? I stamped then punched out 6 hearts and then folded them in half lengthwise. I then glued them back-to-back to create this 3D heart. Fun, right?! The little sentiment was a strip that I cut feeding it through the bottom of the banner punch so that only the notch cut out from it. I trimmed the other corners off at the "from" end using my paper snips.
Here's one more view of my project... this favor can be changed up for any occasion and I love that it is created with just a half sheet of card stock.
