Happy Friday! I hope you had a fabulous week!! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Rachel asked us to create a pop-up card for our Fabulous Friday designs. I decided to use a few of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets to create a fun birthday card, based on a QE card I shared with you last month (see that card here). When I like a layout, I tend to use it again and again!
Once again the main focal point of this card is the gorgeous scripted sentiment from the Botanicals for You stamp set. I changed up the color palette for this week's card to go along with the colors found in the Have a Cuppa designer paper stack, from which I cut the strip on the front of the card. I really love the way the bermuda bay, melon mambo and wisteria wonder work together with whisper white - such a fun color combination!
And for the pop-up element on the inside of the card, I used DSP in the Have a Cuppa DSP stack to "color" my balloon images, which are from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set. The sentiment is from the Perfect Pairings stamp set and really pops in melon mambo, doesn't it?! The die cut is from the Lots of Labels framelit collection for the Big Shot.
This photo shows how I mounted my pop-up element - I simply used my Stampin' Trimmer to cut a slit on the fold of the whisper white card stock liner 1-3/4" in from both sides. I had to make a small score line at the ends and then this little piece folded in (I had to make sure it didn't accidentally get glued down when I attached my liner to the card base). So easy and such a fun surprise for the recipient!
Here's one more view of my project... I love these colors together! For even more pop-up ideas and inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created.
