Happy Friday! We are spending the day at my daughter Amanda's State championship meet in Richmond watching her swim in her last high school swim meet. Swimming has been such a large part of her life for so many years and this photo above was one of her Senior portraits and is one of my favorites. If you're in the Central Virginia area and need a great photographer, be sure to give Brian Sennett a call - he did a fabulous job with her portraits!
So this week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Jennifer asked us to feature the color combination of chocolate chip and mint macaron in our Fabulous Friday projects in honor of National Chocolate Mint day which just happens to be TODAY. Who even knew that this was a thing?! That is one of my very favorite flavor combinations and now it will be on my list of fun color combinations! I decided to create a fun flower embellishment for a baker's box favor. These are so fun and quick to make and who wouldn't want to receive a gift in one of these cute boxes?!
I used both the Spiral Flower Originals die for the Big Shot and the Blossoms punch along with the Fringe Scissors to create my flower.
I didn't permanently close the lid of my box, but held it shut by wrapping it with a strip of DSP from the It's My Party DSP stack to act as a belly band - the flower is attached at the seam where the strip is glued together to hide it. The sentiment is from the Party Wishes stamp set - want to know how I got the fancy sides? I fed it through the decorative label punch! The "o's" are filled in with mint macaron enamel dots that are part of the It's My Party suite of products from the Occasions catalog.
Here's one more view of my project... this favor can be changed up for any occasion and I love that it is created with just a single sheet of card stock. For even more chocolate chip/mint macaron project ideas and inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created.
