Happy Friday and thanks for visiting! This week for Fabulous Friday over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring masculine cards and I decided to pull my From Land to Sea stamp set out again (did you get this week's QE card project sheet?). The sentiment is from the Crazy about You stamp set. I went with a fun color pallette of old olive, soft sky, tip top taupe and whisper white - very beachy, don't you think? This card is a Z-fold card... see below to find out why it is called that:
The front of the card is scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2" so that you can fold it back on itself as seen above. The only tricky part is to make sure you don't put adhesive on the entire front panel that you attach!
Here is a view of the inside of my card. I touched the edges of the whisper white card stock directly on the top of the tip top taupe ink pad to get the brown edge all around - I think it helps it to pop off the old olive card stock. On the inside panel, I stamped off the turtle and used a second generation inking to add the turtle to the card stock... that way it wasn't too dark to read the sentiment.
I stamped this sea turtle with tuxedo black ink on a scrap of whisper white card stock and colored it with my stampin' write markers then cut it out and popped it up on this banner piece which I trimmed down just a bit. It needed a little something extra so I added two silver mini brads and a star punched out of silver glimmer paper.
