Happy Friday and thanks for visiting today! How do you like my title for today's post? This card is fulfilling two challenges - it is my Fabulous Friday creation for the Sisters in Stamping blog (Easter cards this week) AND my submission for the March Simply Paper Design Challenge (using embossing folders). It is also a CASE of a card in the catalog found on page 27 which happens to be a Mother's Day card, but I think the colors work for Easter, don't you? I absolutely loved this card when I saw it in the catalog... clean and simple and the card stock flower is stunning! I *had* to make it and make it work for my two challenges. I think I pulled it off, don't you?!
Here's another view of the flower - it took many punches to recreate it: Bird builders (pear pizzazz leaves), Pansy (strawberry slush bottom layer), Petite Petals (strawberry slush middle layer) and Boho Blossom (marina mist smallest flower top layer). The pearl accent just finishes it off beautifully!
The texture was added to this soft suede mat and the whisper white card stock strip using my Big Shot and the Delicate Designs textured impressions folders. I didn't have the lace tape so I thought this worked just as well. The "Happy Easter" sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set (a must-have!) and I used the 2-1/2" circle punch to cut out the naturals white card stock once I stamped the sentiment with soft suede ink. I added a strip of marina mist that I notched on each end and a piece of the marina mist chevron ribbon to complete the card. I hope you like it and see that you can use the catalog for inspiration for any card!!
Thanks for checking out my project today! Please be sure and hop on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what Karla and Rachel came up with this week. Also, check out my sister Cindy's blog, Simply Cindy Crafts, to see what the Design Team came up with for the March challenge.
Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration ends on Monday - if there is anything else you'd like to order that will get you to the $50 amount to qualify for the free item, please order online via my Stampin' Up! store as I will be cheering all weekend long in Richmond for my son Brandon at an Age Group championship swim meet. I will be checking email periodically so if you have any questions, please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks and have a fabulous weekend!!
