Happy Friday! This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog for our Fabulous Friday projects we are giving you a sneak peek of some of the fabulous new items in the Summer Mini catalog which begins on May 1st. Have you received yours in the mail yet? No worries, if you need one just let me know... I have extras! If you're local to the Lynchburg area please join me for an Open House to kick off the Summer Mini on May 7th... contact me for details and to RSVP.
One of the stamp sets that caught my eye when I first looked through the Mini was "One to Grow." There are two images and two sentiments with this stamp set and it is priced right, too! I really love this mason jar full of flowers that look like someone just plucked them out of the ground and had to use it for my card. I by no means have any kind of a green thumb so am not very familiar with real flowers, but I love daffodil delight and this color just screams summer to me so I had to watercolor some bright yellow flowers. I decided to pull out my much-neglected aqua painters and stamped the image with StazOn jet black ink on a piece of watercolor paper. For the watercoloring, I used ink from the lids of the following ink pads: daffodil delight (flowers), old olive (leaves), river rock (mason jar), crumb cake (shadow) and poppy parade (flower centers).
The base card is old olive card stock and the base mat of daffodil delight card stock was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder. I matted the watercolor paper panel with a piece of chocolate chip card stock and stamped the "thinking of you" sentiment with poppy parade on whisper white card stock and punched it out using the Word Window punch. The modern label mat is punched from chocolate chip card stock and I embellished the card with poppy parade stitched poly ribbon and basic pearls.
