It is my New Year's resolution for 2009 to post more regularly to this blog! Already I'm a day behind.. how does that happen?!
I want to share some pics from the Christmas get-together that I had with my downline last month. We did a shoe box swap - these are so much fun and a great way to get a lot of stamping done in a short amount of time. Everyone comes to the meeting with her project designed and pre-cut along with all the supplies needed to complete it in a shoe box (hence the name). We make each project and pass the shoe boxes around the table. There was no theme this time - it was pretty much a free-for-all and the projects were great!
Here are some pictures of the projects for you to enjoy:
This is Amanda Denny's great pocket card using the Winter Post stamp set from the Holiday Mini. I love her use of the In Colors and the awesome striped ribbon from the Holiday Mini.
Darlene used the gorgeous Bella Rose DSP along with the Puns from the Past stamp set, featured in the Fall Catalog Sampler (on sale now at 20% off with a qualifying $20 purchase), for her card. Faux stitching brings it all together!
Delores' card showcases the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, also featured in the Fall Catalog sampler - I really love this set! Can you see the "bling" on the polka dots of the butterfly? Dazzling Diamonds always makes a card pop!
Gaylyn created this project with a little help from the Big Shot. Do you see the textured cardstock used with the Top Note die - it was cut in half and forms the top of the acorn for this card. Underneath the chocolate grosgrain ribbon are several scallop circles punched out of the same textured cardstock. Gaylyn's sample looked much more like an acorn - mine sort of looks like a toy soldier's head, doesn't it?!
Jackie's card uses one of my new favorite Christmas stamp sets - Snow Swirled - along with Versamark ink and Winter White embossing powder. You just can't beat Real Red and Glorious Green for a classic Christmas color combo. I also really like the scallop edge punch to create the side border - isn't it pretty?
Jennifer used the brand new Love You Much stamp set that is currently being offered in a sneak peek promotion. The little love birds are so sweet - I love them! She also used the Hawaii Papaya DSP - what a great color combination: chocolate chip, tangerine tango and kiwi kiss! And the chocolate taffeta ribbon just finished it off nicely, didn't it?!
Check out Michelle's fun birthday card featuring the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. The fun border/edge on the tempting turquoise piece was done with the spiral punch. Her original cupcake had colored frosting, but I was running out of time so did the quick thing and used Dazzling Diamonds with the 2-way glue pen to bedazzle my cupcake.
Last but not least is Sherri's beautiful 6x6 scrapbook layout. Her color combo of Pink Pirouette with Basic Gray is one of my current favorites! These hearts and the sentiments are from the Always stamp set.
Weren't these projects great? I get together with my downline twice a year (July and December)
