Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week. This week Jennifer asked us to create sympathy cards for Fabulous Friday over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. Sadly, I am finding myself in need of these cards more and more the older I get. My project this week features the Wild About Flowers and Thoughts & Prayers stamp sets. I chose to sponge on this card as I haven't done that in a while and it never disappoints. I used my Layering Ovals thinlits and Big Shot to cut out an oval shape on a piece of scrap card stock and added some Tombow multipurpose adhesive to the back. I smudged it around and allowed it to dry to tacky to create my mask. Starting in the center I sponged lightly with pool party ink and then along the edges of the oval with island indigo ink. I lifted the mask and then the flower image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (my go-to black ink with photopolymer images) and the sentiment was stamped with island indigo. I ended up getting a small smudge of black ink near the flowers so hid it with a rhinestone - an embellishment opportunity, right?! Added a few more rhinestones (remember to use an odd-number of embellishments as that is more pleasing to the eye) and then finished my card. Easy-peasey, just ended up with blue inky fingers.
Here's another view of my card. For even more sympathy card inspiration please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
