In honor of World Emoji Day on July 17th, Jennifer asked us to create a project featuring an Emoji for our Fabulous Friday projects for the Sisters in Stamping blog this week. I tend to use "Yikes!" smile face one a lot and thought it was perfect for a belated birthday card!
The face of my Emoji is cut from the new pineapple punch card stock using the largest circle from the Layering Circles framelits and the Big Shot. I sponged all around using pineapple punch ink to give it some dimension. The eyes were cut from soft suede card stock using a 1/2” circle punch. It is a little tough to see in this photo, but I scored the “teeth” on a strip of whisper white card stock then rounded the sides of the mouth using my 1” circle punch. I used the side of the soft suede brush tip marker to edge the mouth and ran a line down between the top and bottom teeth. I also drew in a little lower lip just under the teeth lightly, too. The balloons were cut out using the Balloon Bouquet punch and my new In Color 6" x 6" DSP stack. These fun new In Colors were perfect for this card! The sentiments are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and hand-drew the strings of the balloons down to the end of the "D" in Belated.
Here is another view of my card - I think you can actually see the teeth in this photo! For even more Emoji project inspiration, please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
